Dowry is the worst thing in society in my opinion.

This is complete injustice to woman in every way- emotional, mental, physical, social etc. Girls are not a burden but the society’s format or unusual customs show them as burden on the family. Parents start saving money for their daughter’s wedding right from birth. What kind of mentality is this?

Dowry-free marriage is one of the long battles in my life for which I struggled for years. The roots of dowry are very deep inside our society. And fighting it every day confront you with challenges which takes a heavy toll emotionally and mentally. I personally feel that dowry is complete injustice with women and does not give women equal status in society. Because of dowry men will always be superior to women. This is creating a mess and negative environment in society.

Recently, suicide of Ahmedabad’s Ayesha Banu Makrani-23year old married girl, is a lesson for us. Her husband allegedly demanded dowry multiple times as per news sources. She had to gave up her life…. Sad! 

Lots of woman gave up their only one life for these outdated customs. Is this our worth? You consider our worth with this loaded truck….
